Vesak Festival

Santikaram Association Slovakia

is inviting all friends and supporters to celebrate the Vesak Festival (also known as the "Wesak" or the "Buddha Day", commemorating the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinibbana of the Buddha) on Saturday, 3 June 2023 at Santikaram Forest Temple. Vesak is the most important festival celebrated on the full moon day of the sixth/seventh lunar month (May/June) in the South-East Asia countries.

Program:

11:00 offering lunch to Venerable monk/s, blessing

12:00 community lunch together

14:00 opening the celebration, taking Refuge and Five Precepts

14:30 Dhamma-talk

15:00 discussion, Q/A

16:00 refreshments

17:00 guided meditation

17:30 recitation of the special Pali texts

18:00 candlelight procession and circumambulation around Santikaram Forest Temple, sharing merits and blessing

18:30 cleaning the premises

19:00 closing the event

Notices:

1. The event is free.

2. Everyone is welcome to visit the Santikaram Forest Temple am morning and offer the lunch to Venerable monk/s and join the community lunch together.

3. There is also a possibility to overnight at the Forest Temple and celbrate the Full Moon Day until the next day (Sunday, June 4) or continue with a meditation retreat. (In that case, don't forget to bring your own warm slippers.)
